In times of the revolution, the steamers loaded with goods for the population arrived at the Paso Real pier, which is located in the center of the city.
Currently, the pier is used to move people from one side of the river to the other side on the “Claudia Ofelia” boat. In fact, “Claudia Ofelia” is the only maritime transport in Tuxtepec that has survived modernization.
It is recommended to enjoy a tour on Claudia Ofelia. The price of the service (crossing the river) in 2017 was MXN $5 per person. This service has all the necessary security measures since it has a federal concession by the Ports and Merchant Marine Authority that accredits it as a maritime transport.
